Antique Japanese Go Fun Itchimatsu Baby Doll.
He is hand painted and is dressed in a hand made silk kimono.
Absolutely darling!
What a sweet little face.
His glass eyes are very expressive.
He looks very loving.
Pretty hand made clothing , the red silk kimono with gold flecks seems almost regal. The colors are still vibrant.
He, I call him..  Little Hayashi..,  comes with his silk bed that still has some silk padding.
He also has a little paper pad  with very faded lettering and faint red flowers on it.
He has something written on his foot. I don't know what it means. He has a little boo boo on his nose. (Like most children)
I understand his gofun skin material is made from ground oyster shells and glue.
These Itchimatsu dolls are considered an art form in Japan. They represent the essence of the personalities of Japanese children.
I am afraid l can no longer care for Little Hayashi ( l always named my dolls). So if you can adopt him and provide the care he needs he would be most grateful.
He is 7 inches tall and about 2 1/2 in wide at the shoulders.
