Culturally Important & Authentic Japanese Samurai Doll - Meiji - Edo - Survivor!
This is a rare opportunity to own a culturally and historically important Japanese antiquity. I have sold many Samurai dolls in the past, and have a few to list for sale in the coming weeks, but none so fine as this specimen.
This was part of a fascinating and important estate from a world-renowned collector of Japanese antiquities, and was purchase in December 1985 at Oriental Arts and Antiques in Timonium, Maryland for just over ,200. I still have the sales receipt and can provide this upon request.
If you have read this far, you likely have already realized this is a truly rare antiquity from the Japanese Samurai roll family, so I will let the pictures speak for themself. I will gladly provide additional pictures. This pieces stands at 22” tall, by 27” at its widest with the weapons. It is very large; the largest I have come across. The detail, as articulated in the actual sword that can be removed from its sheath, is unrivaled.
This is an important piece, and one I have yet to ever see on eBay before. Please ask any and all questions. I will be glad to answer anything at all. This piece will ship free, and will require significant packing due to its size and fragility.
Please see my feedback. No disappointments here at all.
For the right collector, this is an opportunity that does not come around often, if ever. Scroll through other Japanese Samurai dolls available in the open market, including Ebay, and this will be evident very quickly. Thanks.
    Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
